About Us

Fifteen years ago, we fell in love with the Devon Rex breed and set out with one clear ambition: to elevate it to a whole new level rather than simply becoming another breeder. We conducted extensive research worldwide to select only the finest breeding studs and queens from top champion bloodlines. Price was never a concern, we were determined to work exclusively with the very best. This dedication has allowed us to consistently produce exceptional Devon Rex kittens with an outstanding show and breeder quality ratio. Our goal has always been to improve the breed. Today, our Devon Rex kittens display a robust yet slender, muscular structure with a wide chest and strong, athletic legs, giving them a surprisingly powerful and nimble appearance. When we look at the beautiful kittens we have available today, we are incredibly proud of how much the quality has evolved over the years. You will never find a Dionysus Devon Rex with small dark spots on a brown coat all our cats boast vibrant, large, and striking colors. Thanks to this commitment, Dionysus Devon Rex cats are now winning championships around the globe. We have proudly shipped show- and breeder-quality kittens to 35 different countries, and the list continues to grow.

Devon Rex Kitten Health & Interaction at Dionysus Devon Cattery

The healthiest kittens, both mentally and physically, are Devon Rex kittens from Dionysus Devon Cattery.com. We restrict the frequency of actual mating in an effort to preserve the health of the mother and her kittens as well as the integrity of the breed. In addition to maintaining the Devon Rex kittens' CFA championship lines, we desire the best in terms of appearance, health, and genetics. Social skills and physical coordination are enhanced through play and engagement. Every day, we touch and play with our Devon Rex kittens, sing to them, and involve them in all family activities. We also bathe, groom, and give them massages, which they absolutely like and which have been shown to heal timid and ill kittens. We incorporate comb-outs into their regular play and social interactions. This is one of the reasons why none of our kittens are afraid of people and enjoy being touched. While nursing, Mommie receives massages, which results in "happy milk" and contented kittens! Watch our movies of Devon Rex kittens to show how well trained they are by the sixth week and how they respond to their names as soon as their eyes open!

Winemaking Process.

Learn more about our winemaking process.

  • Determining when to harvest requires the outdated tasting as well as simple scientific approach. The grapes sweetness and acidity must be completely balanced, but harvesting also depends heavily on the weather conditions.

Hand-picked grapes must be sorted by quality, removing under-ripe or rotten grapes along with leaves and petioles.

  • Grape crushing and pressing is a process used to extract juice from grapes in order to make wine. The process involves separating the skins, seeds, and stems from the juice.
This can be done with a variety of methods, including mechanical crushers, manual presses, or even a combination of the two. The juice is then collected and stored for fermentation.

  • The fermentation process begins with the crushing of the grapes. This releases the juice, which is then combined with yeast and other microorganisms. The yeast consumes the sugar and produces alcohol and carbon dioxide.
The fermentation process can take from several weeks to several months, depending on the type of grapes and the desired result.

  • Wine clarification is the process of removing unwanted particles and substances from the wine. This process can be done using a variety of means, including filtration, centrifugation, and addition of fining agents.
Filtration is the most common method used, and involves passing the wine through a filter medium to remove particles.

Superior Breeding

We look all around the world for the best kitties to join Dionysus Devon Cattery. They are descended from numerous lines of gorgeous, healthy, multicolored Devon Rex with amazing coats. Many of our greatest Devon Rex kittens are kept, and we will always look for the best from around the globe to support the growth and upkeep of our lines. The apple does not fall far from the tree when you only collaborate with the best.

Supreme Confidence

Kittens have certain characteristics that define them from birth. While others take the initiative, some will just observe. The same qualities that make other cat breeds hesitate tend to make Devon Rex aggressive and fearless. We raise our kittens in a secure setting with frequent human interaction, always letting them explore their surroundings. Happy cats come from self-assured kittens.

Healthier Bloodlines

Other breeders will tell you how their cats have all been tested for this and for that, but how well did they look into the lines they selected? All our team members come from long lines of healthy cats with virtually no health issues. Dionysus Devons kittens are born of hardy stock, and look forward to long lives full of fun and adventure.

Discoverer

John Smith

John Smith opened his interest in wine more than fourteen years ago working at a farm and in a wine bar.

  • His urge to get closer to the action led him to Texas where he was inspired by the best winery owners and winemaking professionals while building and managing their wine programs for several local restaurants.
Smith decided to deepen his interest in winemaking industry and gained a Certificate in Viticulture from the Santa Rosa Junior College. Next he pursued a degree in Enology, Plant Science, and Chemistry, and gained winemaking experience while also experimenting with his favorite wine in his own backyard project with his wife, Mary. Finally, he embarked upon an extensive search throughout the area for a suitable location to start a commercial vineyard. That was a foundation of the Pinot Noir Winery.
